Turkey reacts to EU education and cultural office

The Foreign Minister said that Ankara has not yet received the European Union invitation letter on matters dealing with the issues of education and culture.

İSTANBUL - Turkey’s Foreign Minister has reacted to European Union moves to set “political matters” as a condition in the chapter of negotiations for the education and culture section in Turkey’s bid to join the bloc.

Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul stressed that political matters could not taken under the heading of education and culture. “This section will be one that would have matters related to education and culture,” he said.
